I am now making it with Maple Valley Cooperative organic maple syrup. I switched from agave syrup to maple syrup because maple syrup production is more sustainable and many people have requested the change. The new formulation doesn’t really taste much different because the flavors of the goji berries, cacao and (especially) chipotles are more pronounced than the subtlety differences in the sweetener. It’s more of a philosophical change than anything.
